Velvet the Doberman needs our help again

Posted on June 4, 2012 at 1:40 PM

Velvet, now known as Millie,  struggled through her labour due to the poor condition she was in but has been a fabulous mum to her pups. 2 weeks later she developed Bloat and we rushed her in to emergency surgery in the middle of the night. The puppies have been hand reared by us since then and are thriving.

In the 4 weeks since her surgery she has bloated a further four times, each time needing emergency veterinary intervention to save her. Today she is having several...

Sapphire's update

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 6:05 PM

Just wanted to say how wonderful Sappire is. It's like she`s been here for years. No accidents in the house, sleeping through the night. The most placid gentle dog i've possibly ever met.

She's been for her first vaccinations and will be going off to Anglesey with us to visit Kirsty's mum as soon as she's up to date.

Brilliant in the car, in fact brilliant in every way although needs a bit of lead training :)

Yet another fantastic dog ending up as a stray, totally beyond me ...

News From The Holloway Family

Posted on January 19, 2012 at 12:50 PM

Hello, I just thought I would let you know that we have had Scuttle (now Jack) for exactly a year today, and he is active and well. He had to have his cruciate ligament replaced about four to five months ago, has recovered well and loves to run and run. He is a really loving, well behaved and friendly dog to have around you, both indoors and out. Why anyone has let him go I just don`t understand at all, he is a pleasure to have with his little quirky and funny little ways. He gets on well wit...

Shandy's Haircut

Posted on January 12, 2012 at 7:30 AM

Shandy our little shih-tzu friend has had to undergo a major haircutting session. As you can see from the photos she was covered with masses of horrible, smelly matts which were twisting her skin. ALL her feet were covered in what can only be described has matted socks to the point that one didnt know where to start in removing them. Both ears were just one big knot that must have been causing her discomfort. They are the worst we have ever seen. Her feet havent seen daylight fo...

2011 Success

Posted on January 4, 2012 at 10:35 AM

Another year has passed by so quickly. We have sadly seen and increase in dogs that have been neglected to the point of near death but with the help of our friends at Homeless Hounds and rescues accross the UK every one that could be saved has gone on to a new, healthier and happier life. We have together rehomed a heart stopping 687 dogs. No wonder by Christmas we were all exhausted. A huge thankyou once again to Mary and all her wonderful volunteers and to my wonderful staff here at Aspen V...
